Easter 2014

Our first Easter as a family of four!  We woke up in the usual fashion, around 5:45.  We don't talk too much about the Easter Bunny at our house, we don't want the reason to celebrate Easter to get lost.  But we did have an Easter basket for the kiddos.  They got play dough, bubbles, and a little candy.  It didn't take long for Haisley to figure out how to open the plastic eggs!

Next, we went to church.  Nana made the babies the MOST GORGEOUS Easter outfits.  The pictures seriously do not do them justice.  Benton slept until it was time to walk out the door, so we don't have any pictures of them together.  I am committed to putting them in these precious clothes again just for more pictures.

After naps (or should I say Benton's nap???  Haisley has refused a nap the last 7 days.), we went to Aunt Amanda's house for an Easter egg hunt and delicious steak dinner!  So much fun!!

I know next year will be even more exciting with 4 sweet babies on the move!!

Dying Easter Eggs

I had a full week of Easter activities planned for the children.  We have done 0% of the activities.  That's right, I am mother of the year.  Haisley had a virus, which caused her to be ill as a hornet, yell, scream, etc.  As a result, no naps were taken, no activities were done.  It all changed today,  I couldn't stand the thought of my babies not dying Easter eggs.  I love Easter "gear" as much as anyone, but today was also A Day so we wore our Auburn attire.  So here we go...

Look at this child's face.  Arms crossed.  It wasn't too long after this that she was sitting in time out.  We will get through this stage, we will get through this stage.  This is just a stage, right??  Lord help us!

Benton wanted to dye an egg also.

My sweet love angel.  I literally could eat his face off he is so sweet!  Love. Him.

Love you too, Mark.

My angel bugs!!

Again, look at her face.

We have explained to Haisley the real reason for celebrating Easter.  We pray that both of our babies will understand our Savior's sacrifice for us!  Happy Easter!

Benton's first 1/2 Year

My Benton boy is 6 months old.  He is the sweetest, smiliest little thing you have ever seen.  He has such a sweet demeanor to him and it melts my heart.  We love that precious boy to the moon and back.
Some pictures of our precious boy:
Although he hasn't started food, he has sucked on a mango and a plum.  That boy loves to eat!!

Sweet angel...getting ready for Presley's party.

If this isn't Mark Burnette, I don't know who is.  Don't worry baby, we're gonna work on your part.

JJ always comes bearing gifts.  Easter is no exception.  She brought our babies their Easter baskets a week early so they could start enjoying them!

Playing at the farm.  We always have such fun with Nana and Granddaddy.

These two are looking identical these days!

An update on that love bug...
Sleeping-We are still not on a schedule, but I can definately see us moving that way.  In a perfect world, he would be taking a morning and afternoon nap.  Since we live in the real world,  he normally fusses in the morning because we are running here and there and he doesn't get a quality nap.  He does, however, normally take a good 2 hour nap in the afternoons when Haisley Grace is also sleeping.
We are putting him in the bed awake, and letting him cry himself to sleep.   We normally just have to go put the paci back in his mouth once or twice and he is good to go.  He normally goes to sleep by about 6:30.  On a good night, he will only wake once (between 2-5) to eat, then go back to sleep until about 6 a.m.  Now that he is rolling over really good, he prefers sleeping on his belly.

Eating-With the exception of nawing on a mango, Benton has not had any solids.  He still is nursing every 3 hours during the day.  I really don't know how much he is getting.  He will NOT take a bottle.  That is a major difference between him and Haisley.  I have a feeling that we will skip straight to a sippy cup.  We have our doctor's appointment next week, and I am sure that he will tell us to try to move to eating 4 times a day rather than every three hours.

Tricks-Benton has been rolling over a lot more these days.  He is starting to enjoy his jumparoo more.  He can stand at his little table for longer periods of time.  He really isn't sitting up by himself for longer than a few seconds at a time.  He loves eating his toes!  He loves reaching for things.  Our sweet baby is a real cuddlebug!!

Size-
Weight:  16 lb 13 oz~27%
