Sweet Benton Boy is 16 months old. It has been one LONG month! Between cutting teeth and ear infections, a lot of fussiness has occurred for our precious angel. When Benton feels good, he is so happy. He is into everything and cannot be left alone for longer than a minute or two.
Some updates on our baby boy:
Teeth- I list this first because it has caused an enormous amount of grief this month. He is cutting his 4 eye teeth and it is nothing short of a nightmare. Only one has actually broken the gum, the others are just bulging and look like they will pop out any second. 13 teeth total....I think
Sleeping-Benton is down to 1 nap per day. If he takes a mid morning nap, he will not take an afternoon nap and will be ill as a hornet. I prefer for him to wait until 12:30ish and Haisley to go down the same time. He'll usually nap about 1 and a half to 2 hours. He usually goes to bed about 7, wakes up to get some milk and goes back to sleep until 5-6ish.
Eating-I think that his eating has slowed down a bit. He isn't a picky eater, he just doesn't seem hungry lately. I think it is probably to do with cutting teeth and being sick. I'm interested in seeing if he will resume his old eating habits when he gets to feeling better. He is still drinking breastmilk, we'll probably be done with the breastmilk by next month.
Size-I think that Benton is starting to slim up just a bit. He looks as though he is getting taller. He weighed 24 lbs last week at the doctor. He is growing out of his 18 month pajamas and is mainly in size 2T. He is still in size 4 diapers.
Tricks/Talking-Although he is not saying a ton of new words, he is definitely trying to make words. Today he saw a bird in the sky and pointed and said, "Bird." He consistently says ball, dada, and mama. He throws balls remarkably well. You can tell him to put something in the trash and he always does it!
Benton Boy! You are the sweet little boy! You bring so much joy and laughter to our home and we are so blessed that God entrusted us to be your parents! We love you more than you will every know!!!

Daddy Daughter Date Night 2015
To say that Haisley was excited about Daddy Daughter Date Night is a complete understatement. She has been talking about the "daughter date" for weeks! She was absolutely thrilled when she saw the twirly dress that was going to get to wear. Here are some pictures of her getting ready. I'm going to let Mark fill you in on what happened at the actual dance.
A recap of the night, written by Mark....
Haisley had a great time dancing. I could not keep up with her, literally her style of dancing is a mix between jumping, spinning, and running around. She was definitely the life of the party......until the chick-fil-a cows came out to do the hookey pokey. She didn't want anything to do with them, and was not really in the mood to dance after that, so off to the candy and cupcake table we went. Haisley loaded her bag meticulously with everything they had. We found some of our friends and she danced a little more then we visited the candy table again. When she got tired we headed home saying goodbye to the lady dressed as Elsa as she got into her car. The dance had a Frozen theme. Then we went home and told Mommy all about it.
She had to try out that twirly dress...
Benton was over DDDN!!

BIG NEWS
BIG NEWS, I mean REALLY big news! We are expecting baby #3 and we couldn't be more thrilled about it! We knew that we wanted three babies and we were trusting God on the time frame. We are due August 29th. We have been to the doctor twice and have already had an ultrasound. The heartbeat the first time was 122 bpm, and when I went last week it was 169. I am 11 weeks and have never been more sick with either Haisley or Benton. Morning sickness takes on a whole new meaning when you have 2 babies in the bathroom with you while throwing up! Hopefully, I'm on the tail end of that fun stuff and will start feeling better soon.
It is really funny how the reactions of people change between baby #1 and baby #3, especially when they are so close together. We are so excited that are babies are close in age and will grow up being best of friends (we hope)!
As of right now, we are not planning on finding out what we are having. This is our last big surprise in life and I want to be surprised. Mark, on the other hand, wants to find out. He says we need to know for housing purposes. We'll see who wins that battle! We cannot wait to meet our sweet baby!
