My Baby is 2 Months!!!

Little Haisley Grace is 2 months old...the time is flying by!

She is doing all sorts of new things every day! She is starting to smile a good bit, coo and "talk" to us, and she rolled over for the first time at 6 weeks, but isn't doinig it consistantly.  Haisley can still wear newborn clothes except for sleepers.  We had her 2 month check up last week, the one with a lot of shots...she cried, I cried, everybody cried.  It was terrible to see my baby hurt, but I know its best for her! The sleeping is getting much better!  She goes to sleep between 7-8, and sleeps until 6-8 with only one feeding in between.  She continues to bring such joy into our lives and we are so blessed that she is in our family!
Her stats at her two month appointment:
Weight=9 lbs, 15 oz     15%
Length=20.5 in      15%
Head=14 in       15%

This month Haisley has:

Cuddled with mommy and daddy

Gone to church-and slept the whole way through

We have gone shopping with Nana

And have had lots of tummy time, even though I dont like it!

This month we also welcomed baby Presley into our family!  We have been praying for sweet Presley since we found out about him.  He was born last night (March 30) at 11:58 pm.  He weighs 7 lbs and is 20.5 inches long.  God is so good!  More pictures to come of that sweet baby boy!

One Month Stats

My sweet baby girl is growing like a weed and keeping me and daddy very busy!  I haven't had time to post her one month stats since she went to the doctor, so here we go!
Weight:  8 lbs 1 oz  (She might actually weigh less because she pooped about four times in the doctor's office after we weighed her)  She is in the 15% for her weight.
Length:  20 3/4 inches, 25 %
Head Circumference:  13.6 inches, 5 %
I am still nursing her during the day, but give her bottles at night so daddy can help!  She is really starting to follow things with her eyes now and even started cooing and smiling a little!  I mentioned that we were going to be switching to size 1 diapers, but she blew out three size 1s so we decided we should stick with the newborns for a bit longer!  She is not the best sleeper, but I try to remind myself that she will be out of this stage so quick and to just enjoy it!  Most of her newborn clothes are too small lengthwise.  I am amazed at how quickly she is growing and doing new things every day!  We are so blessed to have this precious baby girl.

In other news...Amanda is having her precious baby boy in about three weeks.  She is miserable but excited!  We can't wait for baby Presley's arrival!

One Month Old

Today is Haisley's one month birthday.  The time has flown by, I can't believe my baby is one month!  Here she is at 3 weeks:
And here is her one month picture:

I recognize that taking a picture of her every week with a labeled sign is a bit ridiculous, so from now on I am only going to take monthly pictures.  Our sweet baby girl has grown so much in the last month.  As of Thursday (4 days ago) she weighed 7 lbs 8 oz.  She has been eating every three hours, and I have been nursing so I'm not sure exactly how much she gets.  We normally give her a bottle at night just because it is quicker, and she'll eat about three ounces.  She has absolutely no sleep schedule.  We have tried letting her sleep in her crib the last two nights and she does NOT like it.  She is still in most of her newborn clothes, but she has grown out of her premie clothes.  We put size 1 diapers on her starting today.  Not because the NB didn't fit anymore, but we were out and already had size 1 that fit her good enough!

During Haisley's first month we have gone on our first walk

She has been a cuddle bug

 And I insisted that Daddy take a picture of her ear.
She'll want to know what her ear looked like when she's older.

2 Weeks Already!

I cannot believe that my baby girl is already over two weeks old. Everybody said that she would grow up so fast, and the last two weeks has definately flown by. We weren't able to get all of the pictures that I wanted while we were leaving the hospital, so we did a reinactment of her in her dress.

Sweet Haisley lost her umbilical cord after twelve days, which means she got her first full bath on day 13. She LOVED getting a bath! She didn't cry until we took her out!  I realize that I look horrific in all of these pictures, but I'm certain that I will look back one day and be glad that I have them.

Her hair is a little too fine for a bow, but JJ insisted!

Pop was sick and unable to hold Haisley for almost two weeks.  He was finally able to hold our sweet baby girl.

All of that picture taking can really wear a girl out.  She had to take a nap with daddy.

Haisley is eating about 2 ounces every three hours.  Since I am breastfeeding, we have to wake her up during the night to eat.  My mom has always said to never wake a sleeping baby, but we have to make sure she keeps gaining weight!   She loves being cuddled!  We rock her to sleep, and as soon as we put her down, she wakes up and starts crying.  I thought I would be the type of parent who let her child "cry it out."  I was wrong!  I can't stand it...I'm going to have to get better or she will be sleeping with us until she goes to college.  For now, I will continue to hold her and snuggle as much as I want!  She is also staying awake for longer stretches of time.  We are so blessed that God gave us this sweet baby girl!

More pictures...

I am one of "those" moms for sure...you know, the kind that has a camera with her at all times to capture any significant (or insignificant) moment that occurs.  This is the result.

After her first sponge bath

We tried taking some one week pictures, but she was not a happy camper about it.  She rolls on her side a lot too which makes picture taking pretty tricky.

I'm pretty greedy when it comes to holding my baby so when daddy finally gets a turn, we better take a picture.

Some sweet friends came to visit and brought us a lovey, which incidently, we love!

A family portrait, minus Hutch

Haisley already loves her JJ.  JJ generally sings a full medley of assorted songs, and Haisley loves it!

Some of these pictures might be repeats, I'm not getting much sleep these days.

Pictures

Some pictures from our hospital stay.  We finally got to leave the hospital around 6:30 on Saturday night.  We had to leave the hospital in a somewhat rushed manner, so I did not get the opportunity to take all of the going home pictures of Haisley that I wanted to take.  I took my time picking out the perfect coming home dress for our sweet girl, so we will doing a reinactment very soon!

Precious angel

Both sets of grandparents gave Haisley some beautiful flowers.  Of course they are pink because that is her favorite color...just like her mommy.

We finally made in home and the fun really begun.  The first few nights we did not sleep at all!  I am attempting to breastfeed, which means that she eats every two hours.  Although she was born weighing 6 lbs 15 oz, by the time we left the hospital she weighed 6 lbs, 11 oz.  We couldn't miss a meal!  She also did not poop for the first 4 days which was quite worrisome.  We went back for a weight check on Tuesday and she had lost another 5 oz.  I continued to feed her every two hours and pump in between every other feeding.  Can you say exhausting???  I either had my child or a pump to my boob about 20 hours of each day.  Luckily, when we went back for another weight check two days later, Haisley had gained two ounces and we reduced feedings to every three hours.  (I realize this is entirely more information than anybody would ever care to know, but I will want to know it when I look back!)  Anyways, we made it through the first week, savoring every second that we have with our sweet baby girl!

Daddy showing Haisley her bedroom.  We have yet to spend time beyond changing diapers in her room.
