One Month Old

Today is Haisley's one month birthday.  The time has flown by, I can't believe my baby is one month!  Here she is at 3 weeks:
And here is her one month picture:

I recognize that taking a picture of her every week with a labeled sign is a bit ridiculous, so from now on I am only going to take monthly pictures.  Our sweet baby girl has grown so much in the last month.  As of Thursday (4 days ago) she weighed 7 lbs 8 oz.  She has been eating every three hours, and I have been nursing so I'm not sure exactly how much she gets.  We normally give her a bottle at night just because it is quicker, and she'll eat about three ounces.  She has absolutely no sleep schedule.  We have tried letting her sleep in her crib the last two nights and she does NOT like it.  She is still in most of her newborn clothes, but she has grown out of her premie clothes.  We put size 1 diapers on her starting today.  Not because the NB didn't fit anymore, but we were out and already had size 1 that fit her good enough!

During Haisley's first month we have gone on our first walk

She has been a cuddle bug

And I insisted that Daddy take a picture of her ear.
She'll want to know what her ear looked like when she's older.

2 Weeks Already!

I cannot believe that my baby girl is already over two weeks old. Everybody said that she would grow up so fast, and the last two weeks has definately flown by. We weren't able to get all of the pictures that I wanted while we were leaving the hospital, so we did a reinactment of her in her dress.

Sweet Haisley lost her umbilical cord after twelve days, which means she got her first full bath on day 13. She LOVED getting a bath! She didn't cry until we took her out!  I realize that I look horrific in all of these pictures, but I'm certain that I will look back one day and be glad that I have them.

Her hair is a little too fine for a bow, but JJ insisted!

Pop was sick and unable to hold Haisley for almost two weeks.  He was finally able to hold our sweet baby girl.

All of that picture taking can really wear a girl out.  She had to take a nap with daddy.

Haisley is eating about 2 ounces every three hours.  Since I am breastfeeding, we have to wake her up during the night to eat.  My mom has always said to never wake a sleeping baby, but we have to make sure she keeps gaining weight!   She loves being cuddled!  We rock her to sleep, and as soon as we put her down, she wakes up and starts crying.  I thought I would be the type of parent who let her child "cry it out."  I was wrong!  I can't stand it...I'm going to have to get better or she will be sleeping with us until she goes to college.  For now, I will continue to hold her and snuggle as much as I want!  She is also staying awake for longer stretches of time.  We are so blessed that God gave us this sweet baby girl!

More pictures...

I am one of "those" moms for sure...you know, the kind that has a camera with her at all times to capture any significant (or insignificant) moment that occurs.  This is the result.

After her first sponge bath

We tried taking some one week pictures, but she was not a happy camper about it.  She rolls on her side a lot too which makes picture taking pretty tricky.

I'm pretty greedy when it comes to holding my baby so when daddy finally gets a turn, we better take a picture.

Some sweet friends came to visit and brought us a lovey, which incidently, we love!

A family portrait, minus Hutch

Haisley already loves her JJ.  JJ generally sings a full medley of assorted songs, and Haisley loves it!

Some of these pictures might be repeats, I'm not getting much sleep these days.

Pictures

Some pictures from our hospital stay.  We finally got to leave the hospital around 6:30 on Saturday night.  We had to leave the hospital in a somewhat rushed manner, so I did not get the opportunity to take all of the going home pictures of Haisley that I wanted to take.  I took my time picking out the perfect coming home dress for our sweet girl, so we will doing a reinactment very soon!

Both sets of grandparents gave Haisley some beautiful flowers.  Of course they are pink because that is her favorite color...just like her mommy.

We finally made in home and the fun really begun.  The first few nights we did not sleep at all!  I am attempting to breastfeed, which means that she eats every two hours.  Although she was born weighing 6 lbs 15 oz, by the time we left the hospital she weighed 6 lbs, 11 oz.  We couldn't miss a meal!  She also did not poop for the first 4 days which was quite worrisome.  We went back for a weight check on Tuesday and she had lost another 5 oz.  I continued to feed her every two hours and pump in between every other feeding.  Can you say exhausting???  I either had my child or a pump to my boob about 20 hours of each day.  Luckily, when we went back for another weight check two days later, Haisley had gained two ounces and we reduced feedings to every three hours.  (I realize this is entirely more information than anybody would ever care to know, but I will want to know it when I look back!)  Anyways, we made it through the first week, savoring every second that we have with our sweet baby girl!
