Haisley's Last Day of 1 Year Old Preschool

Last Day of School

First Day of School

Haisley's last day of one year old preschool was last week.  My, how she's grown.  She wore a goldfish dress on the first day of school, which looked like a prom dress because it was so long.  I put that same dress on her last week and it was to her knees.  We went to Lakeview Preschool Adventures this year, but will be going to AUMC for her second year.  The kids sang a song and it was precious.  Haisley was grinning from ear to ear!  They sang, "Teddy Bear Teddy Bear." On the part that says, "Teddy bear teddy bear turn around," Haisley started turning and didn't stop until the song was over.  It was hysterical.

Benton didn't want to miss out on the fun!

Benton's First Buggy Ride...

...But not just any buggy ride,  a cool race car Home Depot ride.

The things she says...

I'm just going to go ahead and put it out there...Haisley Grace is nothing less than a handful.  Mark and I often look at each other and just shake our heads.  She is sassy, hyper, sweet (most of the time), defiant (sometimes), funny, witty, and keeps us on our toes.  When we go in public, I just hold my breath when she opens her mouth.  I am fearful of what is going to come out.  Some examples:

The other day we were at Target.  We were in the drink section, and an employee was restocking the wine.  Haisley started yelling, "Don't drink my wine, you're so rude."  Wow.  I wanted to crawl under the buggy.  I quickly escaped the isle, but the damage had been done.  There was no playing it off like she didn't say what she had just said, the words were clear as day.  When I do have the occasional glass of wine, I am discrete about it, and certainly don't label it wine.  I just call it juice.  I have no idea where she picked up on this.

Same day at Target.  We are in a crowded isle and she started yelling, "Move, Move please."  Out of Control.  We didn't stay at Target long.

Winnie the Poop

Benton tooted today and her response was, "I bet that felt good."

We were in the car the other day and I told her that I was so tired of her sassy mouth.  Her response, "I'm not sassy, I'm funny."

She sneezed in the car and said, "I must have terrible allergies."

Her name for her brother...Benton Boy

Our hands are full.  Prayers are appreciated.

Benton Boy is 7 Months

Our sweet baby boy is 7 months old.  His little personality is coming out more by the day, and he is precious!  He smiles all the time and just a happy baby in general. He loves his big sister!  He thinks she is hilarious.

Our sweet boy brings so much joy to our lives.  He is a laid back, go with the flow little guy.  Some updates on our love bug....
Size:
He is much bigger than Haisley.  I took measurements of him (which are probably not the most accurate) and he weighed 18 pounds and was 29 inches long.  Growing like a weed!  He is still in size 3 diapers, but has been wetting through them at night so we are about to go to a size 4 when we run out of size 3.  He is mostly in size 9 month clothes.
Eating:
Benton is still nursing, and still not taking a bottle.  At this point, we are definitely not going to force a bottle.  We are probably going straight to a sippy cup.  He has tried several new foods in the last month.  It is so funny how strict I was with Haisley's eating vs. Benton eating.  With Haisley I would try a new food and wait 3 days before giving another new food in case of a possible allergy.  Benton has had rutabagas, spinach, peas, carrots, squash, asparagus, apricots, peaches, bananas, pears, avocado, and many more that I can't even remember.  I have been giving him small pieces of cut up foods that we're eating and letting him try to feed himself.  He has done great picking up and eating puffs.  The boy loves to eat!
Sleeping:
Sleeping is going ok.  He is pretty good at naps sleeping anywhere from 30 min to 3 hours.  I normally put him in his bed awake and go in once to give him his paci.  He is ready for bed at night by about 6:30.  He gets up at least once during the night...not fun!  Good thing he is precious.
Tricks:
Our sweet boy loves playing peek-a-boo, and is really good at it.  He pulls the blanket over his head and pulls it back down and just giggles!  He is finally sitting up pretty good.  We have caught him on his hands and knees twice.  We're in no hurry for the crawling phase to begin.  We can really tell he is ready to be on the go!
Teeth:
None yet.  Still expecting one any day now!

Easter 2014

Our first Easter as a family of four!  We woke up in the usual fashion, around 5:45.  We don't talk too much about the Easter Bunny at our house, we don't want the reason to celebrate Easter to get lost.  But we did have an Easter basket for the kiddos.  They got play dough, bubbles, and a little candy.  It didn't take long for Haisley to figure out how to open the plastic eggs!

Next, we went to church.  Nana made the babies the MOST GORGEOUS Easter outfits.  The pictures seriously do not do them justice.  Benton slept until it was time to walk out the door, so we don't have any pictures of them together.  I am committed to putting them in these precious clothes again just for more pictures.

After naps (or should I say Benton's nap???  Haisley has refused a nap the last 7 days.), we went to Aunt Amanda's house for an Easter egg hunt and delicious steak dinner!  So much fun!!

I know next year will be even more exciting with 4 sweet babies on the move!!
