Benton Boy at 22 Months

For some reason, we all refer to Benton as Benton Boy!  I cannot believe my baby boy is almost 2!  He is turning into such a big boy before our eyes.  He is becoming more independent by the day and he is really understanding most of our directions for him.  Now him obeying our directions is a completely different story.  He likes to be a helper and throw things away for us.  He also likes to get everyone's shoes and deliver them to each person.  Such a sweet little fella!  He is WILD.  I had no idea how wild a little boy was, and to be honest, I don't think all little boys are as wild as he is!  He is constantly looking for something to climb and jump off of.  He knows no fear!  Our sweet boy keeps us on our toes.  He is the life of the party and almost always has a smile on his face.
Some updates on the angel this month...

Size:  Benton weighs about 29 lbs.  He is in size 2 clothes, size 5 diapers.  He wears a size 7 shoe.

Talking:  He is really trying to talk a lot more these days.  We can't always determine what he is trying to say, but it is not for his lack of trying.  He is starting to put a couple of words together here and there.

Eating:  Baby boy still loves to eat.  He also loves his milk, which Haisley doesn't like.  We limit milk to one cup in the morning, otherwise he would drink it all day!  Benton loves most foods, but there are a couple that I have recently found he doesn't like.  He won't eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and really doesn't care for bread in general.  He loves mostly any type of meat!

Sleeping:  This update changes daily.  Sometimes he sleeps like a champ, other times he does not.   Overall, I would say that things are getting better in the sleeping department.  He still goes down for naps and bedtime without any problems.  He naps from about 1-3 and goes to bed by about 7:30ish.  He normally gets up between 5:45 and 6.  We have had a hard time finding a diaper that he doesn't pee through.  We attribute most of him getting up during the night to being completely soaking wet with pee, all the way to the mattress.  Mark thinks it is all the water he drinks during bath....

Everybody lays out pitching a fit, right??
My baby boy before his big boy haircut.

Benton has started to get the camera and bring it to me and say "cheese" until I take pictures of him.  That explains the next several pictures!!

We love you so much, sweet Benton boy!  Your sweet smile and love for life does brings us immeasurable joy.  You keep your mommy on her toes and praying!  You are adventurous, precious, and oh so funny!  We love you!

Camille Gentry at 37 weeks, 5 days

We had yet another check up last week and everything still looked good!   I am 1.5 cm and 70% effaced.  If we don't have her before August 23rd, Dr. Alverson will induce me then!   I literally cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has flown by.   We have been so blessed to have a noneventful pregnancy this time.   We are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of our sweet baby girl.   Haisley cannot wait to meet her and Benton keeps hitting my stomach and saying,  "Baby Out."  I think he is heard that momma is ready for the baby to be out!   We are as ready as we'll ever be for her to come!  I do actually feel better than I did with my previous pregnancies, so that's a plus!   We are so blessed and excited that you are ours, sweet Camille!  You are already so loved by us all!

Camille Gentry

Our precious baby girl FINALLY has a name!   Camille Gentry.   It has been a long time coming,  and nobody can say that we didn't put enough thought into it!   We have been discussing names for quite some time now, and feel like we picked the perfect one for our sweet girl!   We love the girl-i-ness of the name Camille and Gentry is my grandmother's maiden name.
In addition to having picked her name,  we also got to see our baby girl via ultrasound yesterday.  As far as we know,  she is doing perfectly.   She is moving a ton,  head down,  has a head full of hair,  and weighs about 6 lbs which is in the 30th percentile.  I am about 1 cm, which I am hoping is not an indication of how labor is going to go!   With Haisley and Benton,  I was 1.5 cm and 2 cm at this point....overall we are are just praying for a healthy delivery for mommy and baby girl!   Dr. Alverson will probably induce me the week of August 22nd.   Can't wait to meet you,  sweet one!   You are already so loved!

Haisley Grace at 3.5

This sweet thing is 3.5 years old.  My, how the time has FLOWN by!  I cannot believe the little girl that Haisley has become, truly not a baby anymore.  It is so hard to put her personality into words.  She is very strong willed, smart, witty, bossy, articulate and precious.  She is an excellent big sister to Benton, and I am sure she will be to her little sister as well.  Haisley keeps us laughing and doesn't miss a beat.  She loves:  dress up, sweets, cuddling with her momma, staying up with us after Benton goes to sleep, playing with friends, going places, cooking, and gymnastics.  She does not like:  going to bed (although she goes and sleeps through the night without waking up), getting sweaty outside, sitting at home all day, going to the doctor, going potty.
We still have to remind Haisley to go potty, we might still have to when she's 10...
She is still a petite little thing, weighing in at about 28 lbs, wears mostly size 2T in boutique clothes, 3T in play clothes.  She is in size 7 shoes.

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of the sweet smart girl that you are!  We love you so much!  Thank you for bringing so much joy to our lives!

2015 Funny Stuff Haisley Says

Haisley is saying too many cute things for me to not be writing them down.   I know I have missed some,  so I'm going to start keeping a running list.

February:
She kept throwing wooden blocks across the room.   Finally,  when she disobeyed the 3rd time,  I told her that if she did it again that we would have to go to her room for time out.   She said,  "But I have to keep throwing them,  it's my project.   I didn't get to throw anything all day yesterday."

On the way to the gym..."Mommy, when we get home,  I want a sandwich.   (Pause) Except I don't want ham,  cheese,  or mustard."
Me- "So you want bread?"
Haisley- "Yes, I'll take some bread."

March:
Haisley knows that when we are done praying at night, mommy and daddy leave the room and she has to go to bed.  She has realized that the longer her prayer is, the longer we'll stay in there.  Her most recent prayer was for Jack and Jill, who ran up the hill.

April:
Me-"Haisley, Benton is in your room, can you go check on him?
Haisley-"No because he is ripping and roaring through there."

July :
"Can we please name the baby Tyronee?"

"My hands are sore from pinching people."

Haisley has become increasingly difficult to put to bed at night.   Tonight,  we put her to bed and she started yelling Daddy, daddy.   Mark went in there and Haisley wanted to know why Jesus died on the cross.   She is no fool!   She totally knew he would stay in there and explain it.

Benton at 21 Months

This sweet thang is 21 months and a pure bundle of energy.  He makes us laugh, ensures that we never have a dull moment, and lights up our lives!  I had no idea how wild life could be until I had a little boy.  It is so weird calling him a little boy, but that is what he is turning into right before our eyes.  I have never known a child who enjoys life more than Benton does.  He is happy and easy going most of the time!  Some updates on our angel baby...

Teeth:  I mean I seriously have been expecting Benton's 2 year molars to pop up any second, but nothing yet.  He has been chewing on his fingers and acting a little fussy lately, so I figure it won't be long now.

Eating:  The boy still loves to eat.  I have noticed that he likes milk more nowadays, but we normally just give him one glass a day.  It is safe to say that he will eat just about anything.  His favorite breakfast food is sausage.  There are only a few things that he doesn't like....pb&j sandwich and cheese are the only things coming to mind at the moment.

Talking:  Benton is talking a lot more these days.  He will attempt to say most of the things that you ask him to repeat.  Ball, thank you, momma, daddy, please, dog, truck, sausage, and bat are a few that come to mind.

Tricks:  Benton boy is a dare devil.  He is fearless and has many tricks that make me a nervous wreck!

Size:  I think he weighs about 28 pounds.  He is in 2T clothes, size 5 diapers during the day and size 6 at night.

Sleeping:  Benton takes a pretty consistent nap from 1-3.  He goes down for bed about 7:30 and (knock on wood) has been sleeping until about 6.  He cries some during the night, but we do not get him.  Hopefully, he will be completely sleeping through the night by the time baby sissy gets here!

Benton putting his tricycle in the pool...never a dull moment.
Trying to pee through the rails.  He is also wearing orange boxer briefs in this picture...not even close to being potty trained!

JJ gave the babies a ride in the baby pool!  They LOVED it!

4th of July 2015

We had a very busy, but fun, 4th of July this year!  Saturday morning, we woke up early (as usual), and headed to see the Wood's at the lake.  Haisley was so excited to be spending time with her friends, and Bama Park did not disappoint.  We arrived in time for the golf car parade.  Haisley got to ride in the parade and has been talking about it ever since.  After the parade we played in the lake then took a boat ride.  We enjoyed our time there so much!  After we left, we went to the farm to visit Nana and Granddaddy for a bit.  We finished the night with fireworks.  Haisley was not a fan, she ended up sitting the car with Daddy.  Benton enjoyed them, but was mainly just tired!

One of the golf carts in the parade.  You can see that even Uncle Sam was there!

The boys were having a blast in every single puddle that they came across.
And Benton thoroughly enjoyed his snow cone!
