8 Months

Haisley Grace is 8 months old!

We cannot believe how fast time is flying by!  Haisley brings so much joy to our lives and we are so thankful for her!
Some updates on her:
She is becoming a better eater.  She's had pears with cinnamon (a new favorite), prunes, peas, green beans, carrots, squash, turnips, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes,  and plums.  She will definately let you know when she is done eating by violently shaking her head back and forth and sealing her lips tight!  We are striving to only have her nursing/bottle four times a day...it is not going so good.  The last month she's been gettting up around ten to eat again.  We are trying to break her of that habbit though.
We are using what is left of the size two diapers, but the next box we by will size three.  She can still fit into a few of her 3 month smocked clothes, but wears 6 month in regular clothes.  When weighed her in at the hospital yesterday she weighed 16 lbs 7 oz.
She is not quite on the move yet!  I used to stress about the fact that baby had no interest in crawling, but I guess she will when she's ready!  Whenever she is on her belly, she always pushes up on all fours, but she'll only take a couple of crawling steps and fall.  Haisley still loves to stand up!  She is starting to pull up on things, and if you are sitting on the floor with her, she'll use your leg to get herself in a standing position.
Sleeping....what's that?  We have recently moved into a new house and it has thrown this child for a loop in the sleeping department.  She gets up all during the night, and we get her at the first sound she makes.  Ridiculous...right?  After we were up with her all night last night, Mark deemed this weekend the time when she would be crying it out from now on.  We'll see how that goes!  She is taking about two naps per day.  Her best nap is usually in the morning.  She goes to sleep about seven and sleeps until about five, then goes back to sleep until about 6:30.  (waking up all along, of course)
Haisley talks a good bit nowadays.  She mimics sounds that we makes and it is the sweetest thing ever.  I can't wait to hear actual words..i'm sure it will melt my heart.

As I mentioned earlier, we've moved into our new house!  Things are everywhere still, but we're making progress at getting the new house organized.  We love the location of our new house, it is very close to downtown.  Haisley walked to her first tailgate ever!  She loved looking at everything going on!

The outfit Nana made for her!

Toes in the sand!

We went to the beach this weekend and Haisley LOVED it!

As soon as we put her in the sand, she kept picking up the sand and putting it in her mouth!

I wanted some naked pictures at the beach!  I definately paid for it though, we are still getting sand out of that little hiney.

I put sunblock in her hair because she wouldn't keep her hat on.  This is the hairdo that followed.

Our first family beach trip was so much fun!  Haisley Grace was the perfect little traveler.  Slept there and back, and was a precious doll the whole time there.

My Heart!

Ohhhh, my little angel!  She is mommy's sweetheart!

I write this blog in lieu of keeping up with a baby book.  With that said, my "baby book" would not be complete without noting that Haisley Grace wants to be held ALL THE TIME!  I am the first to admit that I have completely spoiled this child and cannot say that I would do anything differently.  She loves to be held, specifically by her mommy, and I love it!  I would be lying if I said that I wouldn't like her to play independently on the floor at times.  I am blessed beyond measure that I have the opportunity to stay home with my sweet angel and play with her all day!

Movin' on Up!

We're moving from our precious trailer to an actual house!!  Most would think that moving out of a trailer into a house would be a joyous occasion, and it is, but I am really going to miss my trailer.  We have the most wonderful view of two ponds and a beautiful field.  I have lived in my trailer for almost eight years, the longest I have lived in one place!  Our new house is precious, and has lots of room for potential.  It definately needs some work.  Here are some before pictures.  As the Lord, time and money permits, hopefully there will also eventually be some after pictures.

7 Months!

Haisley Grace is 7 months!

Haisley has started to go from a sitting position to her knees and rocking a little, but has really shown no interest in crawling beyond that!  Who needs to crawl when a chariot will carry you everywhere?!? (I am the chariot, by the way).    She really prefers to be standing to sitting or laying down.  She is so curious about everything going on around her-quite a busy body!  She still enjoys playing in her bouncy seat.  She has gotten pretty good at rolling around on the floor to get where she wants to go!  A few times she has moved from a sitting position to using something to pull on and turn to her knees.  She loves reading!  When she is fussy at night, reading almost always calms her down.  Her favorites are Polar Beard, Polar Bear, What do you Hear? (with the sound buttons) and Is This My Nose?  Both of which her JJ bought her!

She is still in 3-6 month clothes and size two diapers.  I weighed her in this week and she was 15 lb, 8 oz.

She is nursing four times a day now, and eating three solid "meals" a day.  She has gotten really good at eating lunch and supper, but does not love breakfast.  She has tried peas, green beans, squash, carrots, avocado, sweet potatoes (her favorite!), peaches, pears, and plums.  Surprisingly, she really does not like fruit.  We've been saying that the child is going to have a tooth for months, but nothing yet.  She is chewing on everything!

Our little angel is going to bed between 6:45-8pm.  She normally wakes up about five to eat and then will go back to bed until 7 or eight.  I know that is a broad time, but it really depends on how naps have gone for the day.  Speaking of naps, they are getting better!  She still naps three times a day.  She'll nap for about an hour at a time.  We're hoping that she start taking only two naps once she will nap longer.

Haisley is such a joy!  She loves to laugh and play!  She mainly cries when she is tired these days!

These are some pictures of her month:

1/2 Year

1/2 Year

How in the world is my baby girl half a year old?!?

Mark and I were talking earlier how much she has changed in just a few weeks!  Just in the last month, her personality has come out so much!  She is smiling and laughing all the time, playing with toys, and sitting up really good.

She is still breastfeeding....I realize I said that she would be weaned by six months-it didn't happen.  We have tried green beans, peas, squash, oatmeal, rice, and bananas.  She doesn't love solids, but we're going to keep trying.  We are also working on eating four times a day rather than every three hours.

She is sitting up for longer periods of time, loves peek-a-boo, is going from sitting up to her tummy, she is starting to lunge forward, still loves standing up, and adores her jumparoo thing.

She is talking so much more in the last week or so.  It is truly the sweetest sound ever!
She is reading in Spanish and English now....just kidding, but she does love when we read to her.  She is still in size two diapers.  She is still in some size three month clothes, some six months.  I'm not going to lie, the first four months of this child's life were rough.  She cried ALL of the time!  I think she might have had colic.  We are so blessed that only cries now when she is tired.  She goes to sleep around eight every night and gets up between 4-6 am.  She will usually go back to sleep until 8 or so as long as she eats.  She will nap in her crib for about thirty minutes, but still prefers sleeping with her mommy.
We took her for her 6 month doctor's appointment and she had to get 4 shots.  We survived, but it was rough!

Her stats:

Weight:  15 lbs, 3 oz--50%
Height:  25.5 in--50%
Head Cir.:  16 in--15%
